Replace That Missing Tooth With A Bridge For Teeth

Dental bridges

Dental bridges are one of the most effective ways of replacing a missing tooth or teeth, giving you a comfortable, fully functional and natural looking result that lasts for many years.

What is a dental bridge?

A dental bridge is made up of two or more crowns on either side of a missing tooth, with a false tooth between them. It is fixed in place and functions in the same way as a bridge is supported on either side of a river. The artificial tooth or teeth are called pontics and the supporting teeth are referred to as abutment teeth.

What is the procedure for getting a dental bridge?

First, Dr. Keith Phillips will fully examine your mouth to ensure that you are a good candidate for a dental bridge and that this procedure will bring you the best results.

The teeth on either side of the gap will then be prepared to ensure they can properly support the artificial tooth, or pontic. This involves removing the tooth enamel and placing a crown on each of these teeth that completely covers the tooth down to the gum line. The crowns will then be attached to the pontic on either side, so that the pontic ‘floats’ between the two teeth but is held securely by the abutment teeth.

To ensure you have the most natural, attractive and functional set of teeth, our team will work with you to perfectly match the crowns and artificial tooth to your natural color, shape and size. This will make the bridge unnoticeable from your natural teeth, giving your smile an even and aesthetically pleasing look.
